Medical Council of India (MCI) rejected the proposal for a new government medical college in Nellore along with 3 other private medical colleges in Hyderabad, for the year 2013-14, as they failed to meet the stipulated norms on faculty and infrastructure facilities. AP government approved the college last year and sanctioned funds to the tune of Rs350 crore.
